Fun With Flowers

This week our second grade students are finishing their colorful flower gardens. These abstract watercolor paintings are inspired by the work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Fire in the Sky

Our fifth graders used pattern and design to create beautiful sunset skies. To finish this artwork, they will be learning about the work of Gustav Klimt and paint the silhouette of a fantasy tree, inspired by his painting "Tree of Life."

Abstract Castles

The fourth grade students looked at the abstract artwork of Paul Klee as inspiration for these paintings. They created these geometric designs with pencils and crayons and then painted the designs with watercolors. These and other beautiful castles will be on display in November. Watercolor Castles

The fourth grade students are hard at work painting abstract castles. These students are demonstrating perfect watercolor techniques. I can't wait to see these paintings when they are complete!

The Year Started With Paint

This year all of the art classes started painting on the very first day. It was exciting and the resulting paintings are beautiful. You can see some of these awesome paintings on display in the office all through the month of September.
